What to include when you send your enquiry
For an accurate quote, start with the basics: what sign you need, where it will be fitted and the size in metres or millimetres. If you are not sure of the exact measurements, send the wall width, window height, vehicle type or board size and we will work from there. A rough sketch is also useful, especially for shopfront signs, window frosting or vehicle graphics where layout matters.
Photos help us price properly because we can see the surface condition, access height and any fittings already in place. If the site is in Briardene, Umhlanga, Pinetown, Phoenix, Verulam or along the KZN North Coast, mention the suburb and whether the sign is indoors or outdoors. That tells us what weather, salt air or loading conditions we need to plan for.
- Sign type and purpose
- Exact or estimated size
- Photos of the site from a few angles
- Address or suburb for installation
- Any deadline, opening date or trading hours
How our quote process works
Once your enquiry comes through the contact page, our team checks the brief and matches it to the right production method. Bongani Patrick Zulu oversees the business, while Nokuthula Mkhize coordinates operations, so your request is handled by people who know the full job from artwork to fitting. If the brief is clear, we can usually advise on the best material straight away, whether that is Chromadek, Perspex, ABS, vinyl, digital print or a light box.
If anything is missing, we come back with a few focused questions rather than guessing. That may include wall material, power availability for illuminated signs, whether the building rules allow window frosting, or if the site needs after-hours installation. On busy roads and shared centres in Durban North and Umhlanga, timing can matter just as much as the sign itself.
- We review your brief and photos
- We confirm measurements and site conditions
- We recommend the right sign type and fixing method
- We prepare a quotation with materials and installation
- We schedule manufacture and fitting once approved
Details that make pricing more accurate
Some signs look simple but still need careful planning. A 2 metre by 1 metre board fixed to brick is very different from the same size panel going onto corrugated cladding, glass or a painted wall. For vehicle graphics, we need the make of vehicle, number of doors and whether you want full coverage or only doors and tailgate. For shopfronts, tell us if the unit is in a mall, street-facing or part of a shared complex.
We also need to know if old signage must be removed first, if the surface needs maintenance, or if the job includes print lamination for extra protection. In Durban’s humidity and coastal conditions, a laminated print can last better than an unprotected one, especially on exposed façades and delivery vehicles.
- Surface type: glass, brick, steel, cladding or painted wall
- Access details: ground floor, ladder work or high level fitting
- Electrical point if the sign is illuminated
- Removal of old signage if needed
- Desired completion date
If you need help choosing the right sign
Not every enquiry comes with a finished layout, and that is fine. Priya Govender can help with artwork setup so your message fits the sign cleanly and stays readable from the right distance. For a retail shopfront, a simple vinyl cut logo or light box may be the best fit. For promotions, roll-up banners work well at expos, receptions and short-term campaigns. If you need privacy or branding on glass, window frosting and contra-vision are common choices.
We will also guide you on colour contrast, letter height and viewing distance. A sign that looks good on screen can read very differently from the road, especially on busy routes through eThekwini where drivers only get a few seconds to take it in. Sashen Naidoo checks production detail so sizing and finishing are right before the job leaves the workshop.
- Branding for a storefront or office
- Temporary promotions and events
- Privacy film for windows and glass partitions
- Illuminated or non-illuminated outdoor signs
- Internal wayfinding and directional signs
Installation, removals and ongoing maintenance
A quote is not only about making the sign, it is also about getting it fitted safely and keeping it in place. Anele Dlamini leads installations across Durban North, Westville, Pinetown, Ballito and Tongaat, with site checks done before work starts. If the area has height limits, limited parking or trading hours that need to be respected, let us know early so we can plan the visit properly.
We also handle sign removals, refurbishment and maintenance visits. That includes replacing damaged panels, reapplying vinyl, checking fixings after heavy weather and updating branding when a business changes its look. On coastal sites, fasteners and sealants can need more attention than inland jobs, so it helps to mention if the site is near salt air or exposed to strong wind.
Before you submit your quote request
A complete brief saves time and helps us quote more accurately. Lindokuhle Khumalo can help guide the sales side of the process, but the best starting point is still clear information from you. If you are opening a new branch, refreshing an old frontage or fitting a few signs across one site, send everything together so we can price the full scope instead of piecing it together later.
Use the enquiry form on the contact page and attach what you have. If you only have a phone photo from site visit or a rough note of the size, send that too. We would rather work from a practical starting point than wait for perfect files that never arrive. Once we have your details, we can move the quote along without back and forth.
- Send one enquiry with all the sign details you have
- Include photos, measurements and suburb
- Tell us if the job is urgent or tied to a launch date
- Note if there are access issues, height limits or building rules
- Expect a clear quotation based on the actual work needed
