Vehicle Installation

Vehicle Graphics Fitted for Durban Roads and Coastal Conditions

Vehicle installation is about more than sticking a graphic on a panel. The finish has to hold up to sun, salt air, constant washing and daily road grime while still looking neat when the vehicle is parked at a customer site. We install decals, lettering, panels and full wraps on light delivery vehicles, panel vans, service bakkies, trailers and trucks across eThekwini, Umhlanga, Pinetown and the KZN North Coast.

We work with cut vinyl, printed vinyl and laminated graphics depending on the job. For company names, contact details, fleet numbers and directional markings, cut vinyl gives a crisp edge and long service life. For larger branding, product images or full colour artwork, printed film with a protective laminate is the better option. On curved panels and contoured doors, we allow for panel movement and temperature changes so the film settles properly instead of lifting at the corners later.

  • Single vehicle branding and fleet rollouts
  • Service bakkies, panel vans, trucks and trailers
  • Spot graphics, door branding and full side coverage
  • Reflective elements for visibility where needed

What Is Included in a Vehicle Installation

Every installation starts with a check on the vehicle type, body condition and the surface area available for branding. We look at handles, rub strips, mouldings, door gaps and previous stickers so the new graphics are placed in the right positions. If the paint is fresh, we confirm the curing time before applying film because new paint can release vapour and affect adhesion.

Our service can include supply and fitting, or fitting only if the graphics have already been printed and approved. For larger fleets, we keep artwork consistent from vehicle to vehicle so logos, side text and numbering sit at the same height. That matters when a company has mixed vehicles and wants one clear identity across the whole fleet.

  • Surface cleaning and preparation before fitting
  • Measured placement for logos, text and fleet numbers
  • Application of decals, lettering and panel graphics
  • Final edge check and simple aftercare guidance

Our Fitting Process from Booking to Handover

We keep the process practical and clear. First we confirm what needs to be fitted, the vehicle make and model, and whether the work is for one vehicle or a fleet. If there is artwork to be adjusted, our graphic team prepares the layout at the correct scale so measurements match the body panels. Once approved, the graphics are produced and the fitting date is booked.

On installation day, the vehicle is cleaned, dried and checked for any wax residue, dust or moisture. The film is aligned with measuring points, then applied with controlled pressure and heat where needed. Seams, corners and edges are checked by our installations lead before the vehicle is handed back. If a fleet is being branded over several days, we keep the layout notes and panel sizes on file so the next vehicle matches the first one closely.

  • Booking and site or workshop assessment
  • Artwork setup and size confirmation
  • Printing or cutting of the graphics
  • Vehicle preparation, fitting and final inspection

Turnaround Times for Single Vehicles and Fleet Work

Turnaround depends on the size of the graphics and the type of vehicle. A simple set of door logos and contact details can often be completed quickly once artwork is approved and material is ready. Full side graphics, reflective markings or partial wraps take longer because the panels must be lined up carefully and allowed time to settle before the vehicle is used hard again.

For fleet jobs, we plan the sequence so vehicles spend as little time off the road as possible. That helps businesses in logistics, maintenance and deliveries keep working while branding is updated. In humid weather we allow extra drying time if needed, and on colder mornings we avoid rushing the application because temperature affects adhesion and final finish.

  • Small decal jobs: often same day or next working day
  • Standard business branding: usually 1 to 3 working days
  • Partial wraps and larger fleets: scheduled by vehicle count and panel complexity
  • Rush work can be arranged where the artwork and material are ready

Pricing Approach and What Affects the Cost

Vehicle installation pricing is based on the amount of material, the complexity of the bodywork and the time needed to fit it properly. A straight panel on a bakkie door is quicker to handle than a curved van side with rivets, grooves or deep recesses. Printed wraps also cost more than simple cut lettering because they need material, printing, lamination and more fitting time.

We quote clearly so you know whether the price covers supply and installation or fitting only. For fleet work, we can price per vehicle or per package so budgeting is easier. If the branding needs removal of old decals first, that is included separately because adhesive cleanup can take time, especially on older vehicles that have sat in sun for long periods.

  • Vehicle size and body shape
  • Type of graphic, cut vinyl or printed laminate
  • Number of panels and fitting time required
  • Removal of old graphics or adhesive residue

Care, Maintenance and Re-Inspection Intervals

Proper care helps the graphics last longer, especially in Durban's coastal climate. For the first 48 hours after fitting, avoid heavy washing and high-pressure spray directly at the edges. After that, normal washing is fine but it helps to keep pressure lance distance sensible and not blast the corners. If the vehicle works on construction sites or in high dust areas, a quick wipe-down on a regular basis keeps the branding legible.

We recommend a visual check every 6 to 12 months on working vehicles, or sooner if the vehicle has been through body repairs, panel resprays or a lot of loading and unloading. Look for lifting edges, stone chipping and faded sections. If needed, we can replace only the damaged panels instead of redoing the whole vehicle, which saves time and keeps the fleet looking tidy.

  • Avoid washing for the first 48 hours after fitting
  • Use mild soap and soft cloths where possible
  • Check edges after long trips, body repairs or heavy-duty washing
  • Schedule maintenance visits for fleet vehicles as required
